My good friend and a person I love dearly as a friend, Jen over at (PLEASE GET FOLLOWING!) http://ramblingsfromamum.wordpress.com/ Is asking me all the time, and so are a few others “How is the dog coming along” So there is Lisha above. She is a full breed Staffordshire Terrier we got 4 months ago now from the Rescue home.
She is now one of the family, doing BRILLIANT. When I toy play with the girls she comes over and growls at me, and I say “Good Girl” then she kind puts both paws on my shoulders and licks my face off 🙂 She is VERY protective with Dawn and the girls, so I love this. I never taught her to be like that. As you can see, she has a harness on, but she is about to go a walk with Ryan my oldest son (He just doesn’t know it it yet, insert evil laugh)
She is, we think approaching 2 years old, maybe 20 months old or so. She is very playful, still has the odd accident went excited. When Dawn takes the kids to bed, just before I took these pictures, she whines and hates it, but we allow her to sleep in the girls room when the girls are asleep, we put her bed in the middle of the girls bed, and you can almost see a smile on Lishas face. lol Crazy. When the girls are both in our bed, as they do, Lisha will lay at the bottom of our bed on her Dog blanket.
life is good for Lisha, I walk her when I can, mainly I just open the door and let her run around the woods (I live near/in the woods) and I sit and have a cup of tea as she chases everything in sight, she doesn’t bother with people or other dogs. When she is done she bounds back and about jumps on me, killing me, lol
I wouldn’t have life any other way just now.

Thank you. Had her 4 months or so. I blogged when we got her, as I was “Trying” to get my muscles going for a possible double knee operation. I fractured my Ankle and bust my Hamstring since her had here 🙂 Sod’s law lol
But she is BRILLIANT with the kids and my Son’s and Dawn help out..

Good thing she is protective of the girls, my poodle/dalmatian Kika was like that with my mother and, whenever we tried to go near her, she’d try to bite us.
When my mom got pregnant with my brother, it’s like Kika knew it. She became SO jealous! We had to give her to another family.

Before we moved to his house 3 and a half years ago, we had 2 dogs the same, aged 6 and 14, it was SO hard giving them up.
But they both knew Dawn was pregnant, followed her everywhere, was crazy. We just didn’t want dogs in the house with a baby and just as well, as Dawn got Pregnant 5 months after Chloe was born, (I think it was 5 months) 14 Months between them. I am a man so I will say “This is correct and be happy with my Math”

I Grew up as a kid with great Danes. Love dogs..
As above, when Dawn fell pregnant with Courtney, we had 2 terriers the same, were moving house, didn’t want to have dogs with a baby, so gave to friends, HEARTBREAKING, But we still see one, the other passed, kids love Lisha, so all good..
What kind of dogs you got?
Great Danes are gorgeous big dogs.
I understand giving up pets, we had two cats that we couldn’t have anymore.
We have an Alaskan Malamute, a Kelpie X Red Heeler and a Maltese X. They are great with our little boy. Big two are ver protective of him and he loves playing with the little one. They run around together.

sad thing with great danes is average life expectancy is around 10…
Yeah that’s around the same for most bigger dogs (Alaskan Malamutes). 😦
yeah shame with bigger dogs.
Staffordshire terriers I heard can live till 18+
we could still have lisha by the time girls leave school
