Sky News Cameraman Killed In Egypt

Mick Deane was shot covering the violence in Cairo – Head of Sky News John Ryley described him as the very best of cameramen.

Cameraman Mick Deane was killed in EgypSky News cameraman Mick Deane has been shot and killed in Egypt this morning.

Mick, 61, had worked for Sky for 15 years, based in Washington and then Jerusalem.

The married father of two was part of our team covering the violence in Cairo. The rest of the team are unhurt.

I can only feel the pain of he people of Egypt right now, 200+ have died in the last few hours. Things are very bad and will get worse. I don’t know what news others are getting, the news I am getting from friends is that security forces loyal with new regime are killing kids, woman, all almost largely unarmed civilians. This is barbaric killing of innocent people. UN Where are you? Where is the help?

This is bad, very bad. I will add/edit more to this blog when I get more emails.

Egypt, ‘Concern’ As Scores Killed In Protests

Egypt has been warned to pull “back from the brink” after security forces killed dozens of supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsi during mass protests.

Thousands of Brotherhood supporters remain hunkered down in a vigil at a Cairo mosque, vowing to stand their ground despite threats by authorities to disperse them.

The Muslim Brotherhood says at least 120 people were killed after security forces attacked a protest by supporters of Mr Morsi in Cairo.

Doctors at a field hospital said another 1,000 people were wounded in clashes on the road to Cairo’s international airport, while the Muslim Brotherhood was claiming that a total of 4,500 had been wounded.

The violence in Egypt has prompted condemnation from the international community, with the US Secretary of State John Kerry saying Washington had “deep concern” about the unrest.

Mr Kerry said Egyptian authorities had “a moral and legal obligation to respect the right of peaceful assembly and freedom of expression.”

“This is a pivotal moment for Egypt. The United States … calls on all of Egypt’s leaders across the political spectrum to act immediately to help their country take a step back from the brink,” he said in a statement.

The bloodshed follows huge rival rallies across the country and has plunged the nation deeper into turmoil following two turbulent years of transition to democracy.

Egypt’s Health Ministry said 65 people had died. The Brotherhood said another 61 were on life support after what it described as a ferocious dawn assault by men in helmets and black police fatigues.

The ambulance service put the death toll at 72.

The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, condemned the violence and said: “In Egypt, democracy was massacred, national aspirations were massacred, and now the nation is being massacred.”

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement that he was “deeply concerned” by the violence.

He said: “I am deeply concerned by recent events in Egypt, and condemn the use of force against protesters which has led to the loss of lives.”

Bodies wrapped in white sheets have been laid on the floor of a Brotherhood morgue, their names scrawled on the shrouds.

In the early hours of Sunday, the state-run Al-Ahram news website reported fresh confrontations in the western Helwan district of Cairo between what it described as marching Brotherhood supporters and angry residents.

The report said several cars were destroyed and gunshots heard, but there was no information on casualties.

Over 200 people have died in violence since army chief General Abdel Fattah al Sisi deposed Mr Morsi on the back of huge popular protests against his rule.

 

This is so sad, a country I have LOVED for as long as I can remember truly on the brink of going under, I think we ALL need to look at this and understand people power is now showing itself in many countries. It started in the Middle East/North Africa, as the bible said it would (Strange how nobody is picking up on this huh?) and it is spreading. People want the freedom the people of the USA used to enjoy and the people in my Country still do, for now anyway. We here in the UK take to the streets to make a point, next day, we all go back to life. In the Middle East right now and North African, we could be seeing the 1st parting shots of a World sickened by Greed and Power hungry men. I think this could get REAL bad.

When I was around 8 years old my family arranged a Holiday to Egypt, since I was 4/5 years old I PINED to go to the Giza Plateau

Even now it calls me, I often wonder where this voice comes from, from almost birth to today It has called me, I need to stand below the great pyramid and ask the same questions people have asked since it has been in our Modern World, that is “How”

Who built it, why did they build, what was its purpose, did the people who build it build it willingly or where they slaves, how was it possible for the people of that time to do this? All over parts of Egypt you can see where people had tried and failed before to make a Pyramid, then the Giza Plateau, it lines up with Orion’s Belt

For me this means the people of this time had amazing knowledge of the stars and measurements, this can’t be, it’s impossible. If I ever write a book, it will be on this subject. It is just IMPOSSIBLE. And more, the pictures below also, what are we missing?

I have a fear of flying, it started when I tried to get onto a flight, as a kid, to go to the Giza Plateau, I was scared, I was way under 10 years old, and here I am today, late 30’s and I have still never been on a plane lol

I have to, I need to, I don’t know if I will get there and be disappointed or something magical will happen to me, but I need to go. I pine for it, I need to stand there, and the pictures don’t do it justice

As a deep thinker I have asked a million times “Who built this” I think we all have, it’s one of the world biggest mysteries and it will remain so.

I believe a large portion of human history has been forgotten somewhere. We hear of Atlantis and we see pictures from under water in China of a large City, is this Atlantis? We see paintings, thousands of years old showing men in flight, what is this? What part of history have we forgotten? What books were destroyed? Whatever took place to make us forget?

I will leave you with some pictures, this blows my mind. I don’t know who else is interested, but I am going to explore this more with whoever is interested. As a species I believe a large chunk of our past has been forgotten, or missed or over looked, through this blog I will from time to time explore and see where we end up, amazing for the mind this. I also want to know about underwater worlds, Giants Science are digging up, I need to know what we, as a species, have forgotten

What have we forgotten?

Blogger for Peace.

I would like to thank fellow “Blogger for peace”  DAY ONE Barbara @ http://looneyatoms.com/ for bringing this to my attention. I seen on another bloggers page the “Bloggers for peace” badge and stole it, lol. I had NO idea there was a Blog for it here http://everydaygurus.com/2012/12/20/we-can-make-a-difference-right-here-right-now/  from everyday gurus I just thought it was a cool saying. So I am going to join this, and once a month do a blog on the Peace movement. Anyone that knows me, will have picked up, like Barbara did, I am a Blogger for Peace, so I was part of it without knowing I guess.

I would say EVERYONE has a look at this, because one blog at a time, one reply at a time, one song, one saying, just trying, we may get Peace. I won’t give up on it, and I know you won’t either. Anyone that craves War, craves it for financial gain, or is a Soldier who likes War. As a Blogger for Peace, I would say these people are the architects of War, and they must be stopped

I will add the “B4Peace” to my blog here, in a show of solidarity with others who crave peace as I do, I love it, and it speaks to me in a way of Peace

So all along my ideology of Peace was there, I just didn’t know it. But I will add more.

I think we live in a world where War is for profit and blood flows all over for a small percentage of people can add an extra zero to their bank balance, they make me sick. I did a blog a while back, and the theme was “We don’t want war” http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/this-picture-speaks-1000-words-kindness-and-hate-war-all-in-one/ This picture below speaks volumes, A man from the USA and a Man from Iran, at the London Olympics sharing a Hug. We the people don’t want war, we want peace, we want to love and share and help where we can, we want to share cultures and be part of each others cultures and give a shit.

Kindness on a GLOBAL scale, we don’t see this much do we?

So I throw my hat into the “Blogger for peace” movement and if you give a shit, yes YOU, join in. I am aware any day War could be on my doorstep, and this is the ignorance sometimes, if we can’t see war, we are immune to it so we don’t give a shit. But for the people all over the world in War, at War on in Civil War, we must put ourselves in these people’s shoes to show we give a  damn about them. We must blog and the then blog some more, and then just in-case, blog again against this Global War Machine I hate with every fibre of my being. If you have morals and love and care, then take 20 minutes out of your day and join this “Bloggers for Peace” movement, the more who do it, the more may listen. Never say never. Once I  thought WWIII was a given, it was going to happen, now I am not so sure. We are close. Name a county not in, or at war or in civil war, you will be hard pushed to produce a list with any substance.

So we must all come together, the VAST MAJORITY and say, with one voice “NO” We don’t want to kill each other. And tell this 1% to take their money, run for the hills and let people who will rule FOR US not against us, and allow these people to run a world where hope can be seen, where solidarity can be felt and expressed, where we can say to a fellow human, from anywhere “Are you ok”  I am in, and I will be in harder and harder, as this is a subject close to my heart and my being, this is just my opening blog, expect harder blogs than this to come, I hope I can do “Bloggers for peace” some justice
